Dr. Izidor Hafner is a lecturer of programming and mathematics in the Faculty of electrical engineering and computing of the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

In 1977 he organized the first national competition in programming. Since 1986 he has been the president of Smullyan's Logical Competition Committee. In 1990 he organized the first national competition in recreational mathematics. In 1991 he founded a journal Logika & razvedrilna matematika (Logic & Recreational Mathematics). He is also a member of International Panel of Judges of IMTS.

He is a coauthor of 12 text books of elementary mathematics and logic. He made scientific contribution in theory of von Neumann regular rings and logic.

His best achievement as a former competitor in mathematics were two second awards in national competitions and a third place on former Yugoslav University Students mathematical competition.
